Plavi

Ioane (Ivane) Natlismtsemeli Church is an architectural monument standing south of the village of Plavi, dating back to late feudal epoch. The church is single-nave (11,0 m x 6,5m), built of cobblestone and brick. The corners are made of fragmented red stone. There are decorative arches on the walls. On the east facade, bellow the roof there is relief cross on the reddish rocky stone. There is an attached building to the south, whose 6 pillars are on the south wall….

 

John the Babtizer’s church is an architectural monument, standing south of the village of Plavi, on the cemetery, dating back to late feudal epoch. It is a single-nave (11,0mx6, 5m) church, built of cobblestone and brick. The corners are made of squares of fragmented stone. There are decorative arches in the walls. On the east facade, under the roof on a reddish rock-stone a relief cross appears. To the south, the church has got an attached building, the pillars of which rest on the south wall of the church….

 

“Samarovani” (a burial mound) is an archaeological monument, situated at the entrance of the village of Plavi, dating back to Bronze or early Iron Age, It was discovered in 1929 by chance, while cultivating the ground. The findings of black utensils, a pot is kept in State Museum of Georgia….
