
Ortasheni
The old settlement and tower are archaeological-architectural monuments standing in the center of the village of Ortasheni, dating back to late feudal epoch. During the excavations different things have been found, like: big red baked pitchers, fragments of clay articles of rough surface, ruins of several settlements etc. The survived foundation is built of cobblestone. The tower is of late feudal epoch. It is barrel-shaped, built of cobblestone. The entrance door and embrasures can still be seen….

St. George’s niche-church is an architectural monument near Amilakhvari church, on the hill, the date is unknown. It is a single-nave church (3,8m x 3,2m), built of cobblestone; shirimi stone is also used. The entrance is to the west….

Amilakhvari tower is an architectural monument, standing in the outskirts north of the village of Ortasheni, on the Right Bank of the river Liakhvi, dating back to late XVIII century. It is barrel- shaped with the diameter of 10,5m. built of cobblestone, brick is also used. There are household rooms on the first floor with one window only. In the ruins of the second floor a door, a window and several embrasures can be distinguished. On the remaining third floor there are only two embrasures. The entrance is on the second floor….
