
Khurvaleti
Kviratskhoveli
Church
is an architectural monument, standing east of the village of Khurvaleti, dating
back to late feudal epoch. It is a single-nave church (6,4 m x 4,4m), built of
cobblestone and fragmented stone. The church has got a door and a window in the
south wall and a window in each east and west walls. The west wall is topped
with an arch made of shirimi stone. The north and south walls are topped with a
square brick belfry. The cornice is shelf-shaped made of brick….

Our
Lady’s Church
is an architectural monument, sanding 3 km north of the village of Khurvaleti on
the place called Dzukata, on the left bank of the river Khurvaleti, dating back
to advanced Feudal epoch. It is a single-nave church (10,8m x 5,9m) built of
cobblestone and fragmented stone. The pillars, the corners of the door and
windows are made of shirimi stone. The entrances are to the south and north.
There is an arched widow on the axis of the apse, on each side of which there is
a square niche. A rectangular room (10, 6m x 3,3m) is attached along the north
wall. There is an arched window in the apse on each side of which there is a
square niche. Similar room is attached to the south wall with a door to the
south wall….
The
building is badly damaged!

Kvelatsminda
Church
is an architectural monument, standing in the center of the village, dating back
to late feudal epoch. It is a single-nave church (8,3m x 5,5m), built of
cobblestone and fragmented stone. The corners, door and windows of the church
are built of fragmented stone and square brick. The entrances are to the south
and west. There are arched windows in the east, west and south walls. There is a
square niche on either side of the apse window. On the west facade there are two
relief crosses. The roof is made of tiles of stone.

St.
George’s Church
is an architectural monument, standing 5 km north o the village of Khurvaleti,
dating approximately to advanced feudal epoch. It is a single-nave church (8,5m
x 5,0m), built of large fragmented stones, shirimi stone is also used. The
entrances are to the south and west. There is an arded window in the east apse
with one square niche on each side of it. On the corners of the apse in the wall
there is a stone carving shop and a deacon’s room. A rectangular porch is
attached to the west wall (5,0m x 2,5m), only the lower layers of which
remain…..
The building is damaged!
