
Karbi
Our
Lady’s Church
is an architectural monument, standing in the village of Karbi, dating back to
late feudal epoch. It has preserved its initial form. It is a single-nave church
(8,3m x 4,6m), built of cobblestone and brick. The entrance is to the south. The
nave is covered over with a barrel-vault. On the east facade over the window
there is a decorated arch of the slap of a horseshoe, with a stone relief cross.
On the west of the roof there is a little belfry containing tour pillars and
made o brick….

St.
Marine’s Church
is an architectural monument standing in the outskirts south of the village of
Karbi on the left bank of the river Patara Liakhvi, dating back to XVIII-XIX
centuries. It is a single-nave churches (6,7m x 4,6m) built of cobblestone. The
church has got two entrances to the south and west. The nave is covered over
with a vault….

Trinity church
is an architectural monument, standing in the outskirts south of the village of
Karbi, dating back to XVI-XVII centuries. It ‘s a single-nave church (8,0m x
11,0m). The facades are lined with carved square red Tufa. The entrance is to
the south. There is one window in the east and two windows in the south wall. On
the east facade over the window there is a cross in the circle with a twisted
ornament round it….

The
Gnolidze Castle
is an architectural monument standing in the village of Karbi, dating back to
XVII-XVIII centuries. The tower is barrel-shaped diameter 7,5 m, built of
cobblestone. The thickness of the wall is 15 m. the church is damaged. The first
and the second floors can still be seen. The first floor is rectangular inside.
In the north wall there is a fireplace on either side of which there is an
embrasure. There are several niches in the east wall with embrasures. The floors
are connected by a staircase built in the wall on the second flour, which is
partly damaged. There
are traces of embrasures…..

Davitashvili
Castle –tower
is an architectural monument, standing in the center of the village, dating back
to XV-XVII century. It is square-shaped (6,7 m x 5,0m), built of fragmented
stone 5 stories survive, there are and fire places, embrasures in the walls of
the third and fourth floors. The entrance was to the east on the second floor.
Now the entrance is to the east on the first floor, which is partly filled with
earth….
