Gori
cultural center of David Chubinishvili is one of the strongest cultural bases in
the region of “Shida Kartli” which has been functioning since June 20. 1987.
The
cultural center has got 3 halls and provides rooms for workshops.
1.
Concert hall, seating 650 spectators and containing appropriate technical
facilities ( illumination, armchairs, audio-recording apparatus);
2.
Conference and containing armchairs and audio-recording facilities;
3.
A 148 square metre rehearsal dancing hall;
The
ensembles, functioning in the center are as follows:
1. The ensembles of Georgian folls dances: “Shavlego”, “Kartli” and “Martve”.
“Shavlego” was born in 1985. For 15 years of its existence it
participated in many festivals and competitions held in 11 different countries
of the world. It has been nominated in many international festivals. The
ensemble consists of 31 members, aged between 17-30. It’s operated under
choreograph Omar Khubaev a prizewinner
of many world festivals.
The ensemble of Georgian folk dances “ Kartli” created in 1995 has
already achieved success and acclaim. The ensemble consists of 30 members, aged
between 14-18 and is led by choreographer Anzor
Kupradze a prizewinner of many festivals and honorary order-bearer.
The ensemble of Georgian folk dances “Martve” consists
of 32 members aged between 8-14 and is directed by Zurab Beridze a prizewinner
of many festivals.
2.
Modern Pantomime dancing group “Tsisartkela”
which was created in 1990, comprises 35 members aged between 9-19. The
repertoire of which includes performances on modern pop music.
The
group is led by choreographers Nato Chalashvili and David Nadibaidze.
3.
Children’s Theatre has been functioning since 1988 and its language is
mainly Georgian. The cast includes 27 young actors aged between 9-17. Having
been in existance for 12 years more than 20 plays have been staged.
The theatre has won the first prize in the competition of children’s
theatres at country level. “Hellados” by the famous Georgian writer Nodar
Dumbadze has recently been released.
The
director of the theatre is honored art-worker, Popov prizewinner and order
bearer Otar Kutateladze
4.
“The Theatre of poetry” was founded in 1999. The cast consists of 7
members.
The
theatre organized the performance called “Galaktion” based on the poetry of
the well-known Georgian poet
Galaktoin Tabidze.
The
manager and director of the theatre is Merab Chankotadze.
5.
“A Group of Modern Pop Songs”, comprises 15 members aged between
7-25. The group has been functioning since 1988. The singers of the group have
always been favored by the public in contests and festivals at country level.
The director of the group is Aleko
Aleksidze.
6.
A group of directors having arranged more than hundred different kinds of
activities offer various services :
a)
organizing theatrical, cultural-entertaining activities and holding them
in parks, stadiums, concert halls and other places;
b)
Preparing anniversary celebrations;
c)
Making presentations on the products manufactured by firms (ceremonial);
d)
Working out plans for holding special evening parties on remarkable dates;
e)
Organizing special celebrities on memorable dates.
Cultural center proposes: close cooperation with many world cultural
organizations, firms and businesses dealing with the above-mentioned sphere.
